A National History Day program, funded by the Bezos Family Foundation, supporting NHD teachers in under-resourced districts




CFHE serves as the California affiliate's sponsoring institution for this National History Day grant, funded by the Bezos Family Foundation. The grant supports a cohort of teachers with workshops, stipends, and supply support to help them bring National History Day into their classrooms.

What this grant funds
This 2-year grant supports participating teachers directly with stipends, supplies, substitute reimbursement, travel expenses, and training.
Timeline
Beginning with an introductory workshop in January 2026 at Sonoma State University, the cohort will participate in two 2- day workshops in the summer and fall of 2026. Ongoing mentorship into the winter of 2027 supports the cohort as they bring students and projects to contests in the spring of 2027.
This is a program of National History Day® in partnership with the California Foundation for History Education. The contents of this program were developed under a grant from the Bezos Family Foundation.
